Taylor Swift is on the precipice of a very exciting fall. The 14-time Grammy winner is releasing her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3, 2025. And, ahead of the release, Taylor has some very special news for her millions of fans. On Friday, September 19, the "All to Well" singer invited her 282 million Instagram followers to "The Official Release Party of a Showgirl." Taylor explained that fans will "get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video" for her new single "The Fate of Ophelia" and "never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how" she made it."

But fans will have to leave their homes to attend the party, as the music video is being shown only in cinemas from October 3 to 5. Swifties have shared nothing but excitement for the rules. One person wrote to X: "Oh my queen, we are ready to turn movie theaters into cabarets." Another fan shared: "Tickets secured! Can't wait to see my favorite new showgirl act on the big screen!"

TS 12 is Taylor's longest album title yet

Everything we know about The Life of a Showgirl

Taylor announced TS12 on her fiancé Travis Kelce's hit podcast, New Heights. At the end of the two-hour podcast, the singer surprised fans when she told Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce: "So I wanted to show you something..." Taylor pulled out a mint green record case with the letters TS emblazoned on it. The star then opened the case, exclaiming: "This is my brand new album - The Life of a Showgirl."

The album's title is unexpected for Taylor, who has favored mostly snappy one-words titles for the majority of her career; 2024's four-word album The Tortured Poet's Department was previously the longest at double the number of words of any other album. For TS12, Taylor is leaning into the color orange, saying it reflected the joyful mood she was in while recording it.

Taylor's real life love story

Her previous album, The Tortured Poet's Department, is thought to be about her brief, but intense relationship with The 1975's lead singer Matty Healy. The happiest songs on the album were reportedly about Travis, specifically "So High School" in which she sings: "Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me?" Her real life love story with the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end is sure to make a lasting impact on TS12.

Taylor now calls herself a huge Chiefs fan

Travis and Taylor first went public with their relationship in September 2023 when the singer attended a Chiefs game. She made a second appearance supporting Travis, as they came to New York to play against the New York Jets on October 1. Travis routinely showed up for Taylor too, even performing in a few Eras Tours shows. After two years of dating, Travis popped the question at their Kansas City home. The couple confirmed the news with a collaborative Instagram post, writing: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
