Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are one of the stalwart relationships in Hollywood, as they have been together for 24 years. The two met in 1997 on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, and quickly got together. Since then, both actors' careers have taken off. Sarah is currently appearing on Netflix's Star Search as a judge alongside Jelly Roll and Chrissy Teigen.
And the couple has also worked together on several projects, including both live action versions of Scooby Doo, but their biggest collaboration to date is as parents. Together, Sarah, 48, and Freddie, 49, share two kids - Charlotte, 16, and Rocky, 13, of whom they are very protective. Sarah gave birth to her first child Charlotte on September 19, 2009, six years after marrying Freddie.
It seems that Charlotte has taken after her mother in her love of dancing. While Sarah doesn't often share photos of her children, she doesn't shy away from bragging about them on social media. In 2014, the actress showed off her daughter's acrobatic feats with a photo of her doing an impressive split leap on the beach.
Charlotte's toes were pointed perfectly and her back was arched so her hands could touch her leg that was in the air behind her as her hair flew in the moment. The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star is no stranger to such athletic moves herself, as a former competitive figure skater, making her all the more prepared to judge on Star Search.

Sarah and Charlotte are very close. In 2018, she took her daughter to meet Taylor Swift, which she shared on Instagram in a rare moment.
"I don't often put pictures of my kids on here," the actress wrote. "But last night was truly special. Thank you to the incredible @taylorswift for being so kind to Charlotte. She was so in awe, she could barely speak. Thank you for being the kind of role model young girls need to see."
Charlotte turned 16 in September 2025 and was gifted a black Jeep Rubicon by her parents. To celebrate her, Sarah wrote to Instagram: "I believe the quote is … a daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend. Charlotte, you are that and so much more."

Sarah and Freddie welcomed son Rocky on September 20, 2012. True to his name, Rocky has shown an interest in boxing. When he was just four-years-old, his mom shared a photo of the little one in boxing gloves with the caption: "The #Olympics don't end in our house today, we are hard at work preparing for pajama boxing 2028."
In 2020, Sarah revealed that Rocky was diagnosed with myopia – better known as nearsightedness. She revealed that she "chalked it up to screen fatigue because my kids didn't have a lot of access to devices" before lockdown.

Aside from boxing, Rocky is also into go-carting. For his 13th birthday, which is just the day after his big sister's, Sarah shared four photos of him racing to her Instagram. She wrote: "I should have known by the way you raced into this world, what your future would hold."
She continued: "Aside from being one of the fastest in the state, you are one of the most polite, kind and funny kids I know. I can’t believe you are a teenager. I love you more than my words can express!!!"

In 2021, Sarah revealed to Us Weekly that she and Freddie are "strict as hell." One key boundary they have set for their children is they don't have social media. The parents have even set screen time limits on their kids' phones.
"I think [our children] know what the rules are," she explained. "We have [family dinner] as many nights as we can. We have no phones at the table. We sit, we all have dinner together."
Freddie has his own thoughts on being a dad too. "When my daughter was born that was pretty much it for me," he told E! News in 2017. "I became a full-time father. It's not a job. It's what I love to do."
