With the hair, the handbag and the authoritative tone, Meryl Streep has captured the unique aura of Margaret Thatcher.
Phyllida Lloyd, director of The Iron Lady - the biopic of the former PM - said the Oscar-winning actress had taken to the role with "astonishing ease and brilliance".

"I think Margaret Thatcher was a superstar in this country and I think we all felt we needed a superstar to play her, somebody of huge intelligence, passion and power and warmth".
Meryl visited Baroness Thatcher's old stomping grounds to unveil a poster for the film in London, just across from the Houses of Parliament.
