Though fans can’t wait to see if Britney Spears will take home a prize at the MTV Music Video Awards on Thursday, the pop singer already has a less-flattering gong to her name – that of the world’s worst dressed female star.

The 20-year-old, famed for her barely there belly-baring outfits, edged out pop legend Madonna for the top spot on the Prima magazine readers’ poll.

While Victoria Beckham, who twice won the title, made a turnaround to take the best dressed celebrity award, glamour model Jordan and Planet Of The Apes star Helena Bonham Carter weren’t so lucky, put instead on a roster of the sartorially challenged.

There’s no word on what first-place winner Britney was wearing when she injured herself outside Brad Pitt’s Beverly Hills mansion recently. The popstress and a girlfriend, who bought a map of LA celebrity homes to entertain themselves, were parked outside the Fight Club star’s residence when Britney took a tumble.

“I stood on top of my car, trying to see in,” she tells People magazine, revealing that she fell off the car when Brad suddenly appeared in the driveway. “I busted my knee open,” she adds. “I felt like the biggest dumbass ever.”
