One of the most publicised and sizzling co-star relationships in recent years, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's romance has gone from strength to strength since they met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith. "Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened," she remembers. "It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us to realise it might mean something more than we'd earlier allowed ourselves to believe."
The pair remained "very, very good friends" from the movie's wrap in 2004 until after Brad and his wife Jennifer Aniston announced their separation in January 2005. It was Angelina's adopted son Maddox who eventually helped push them in the right direction. He "just out of the blue called him Dad… That was probably the most defining moment when he decided that we would all be a family," she says.
