While Eva Longoria is a known basketball fan her boyfriend is NBA star Tony Parker she had a chance to show her skills in another American pastime in LA this week.

Donning an Angels uniform emblazoned with her surname, the Desperate Housewives star threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game pitting the Los Angeles Angels against the New York Yankees.

The Latina beauty looked thrilled to meet LA player Steve Soliz, whose last name is strikingly similar to her TV character's moniker Gabrielle Solis.

Along with her sporty baseball jersey, Eva was proudly wearing a shirt for "Padres Contra El Cancer" meaning Parents Against Cancer in English the nonprofit organisation for which she is national spokesperson.

Earlier this week, the sexy star took boyfriend Tony to the children's cancer charity's 20th annivesary celebrations, where she read books to some of her youngest fans and the San Antonio Spurs player gave an impromptu piano lesson.
