Now this is an alfresco terrace with a difference. Modern-Indian restaurant Cinnamon Soho has recently opened its new 'green' summer festival terrace, which is serving up cocktails that feature 'recycled' and 'upcycled' ingredients such as watermelon rinds, pistachio shells and leftover chai that have been used to create syrups, cordials and liqueurs. The drinks will be served in re-purposed milk bottles.
As for the food, the restaurant's signature street food will be presented in recycled dishes. The terrace has also been decked out with salvaged furniture and materials.
There's a new way to explore and appreciate London and it's from the water. GoBoat London has just launched in Paddington, offering the first and only self-drive boats in the capital. Each boat can fit up to eight people, and with no need for a captain or skipper, there's even more space to bring food and drink on board, at no extra charge!
Typical routes start from Little Venice, go past London Zoo, up to Camden Lock and then turn around and head back to Paddington Basin. The ride is a casual 3 ½ knots, approximately 4mph, the perfect cruising speed for a lazy waterway journey.
