Winter Lights festival

Does your January need some brightening up? Head down to Canary Wharf from 16 to 27 January, which is playing host to the free Winter Lights festival, returning for its fourth year. Light graffiti, interactive light bubbles and flora light drawings will illuminate the city using state-of-the-art technology. The artwork will be dotted around the area; simply pick up a map when you arrive or download one from the website in advance.

Dry January at Lucky Voice

Who said January had to be blue?! Even if you're off the booze, there's an enormous load of fun to be had at Lucky Voice karaoke this month - where high octane sing-a-longs can be done whilst sipping one of their mouthwatering mocktails! Their expert mixologists have created a delicious menu of alcohol-free cocktail options, packed full of health-boosting ingredients to blast you into 2018 with a spring in your step! Cheese Town

If you need a January pick-me-up and happen to love cheese, there's only one place for you this weekend - and that's Brixton Rooftop's Cheese Town. Much like it says on the tin, you can expect an entire festival dedicated to fromage, with a dribble-worthy selection of artisan cheeses and grilled sandwiches to tuck into, alongside an un-brie-lievable camembert mac dish. There's also going to be interactive cheese stretching sessions, a dedicated raclette station, a cheese board shop and some grate live entertainment.

Darkest Hour

Gary Oldman, who has just won a Golden Globe for his performance in Darkest Hour, stars as Winston Churchill in this new wartime drama, out on Friday. The film is based on the inspiring true story about the late politician, who, shortly after becoming Prime Minister, is faced with the unenviable task of exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.

Fancy taking your karaoke session in the shower to the next level? If that's a 'yes', nab a ticket to Gospeloke, an almighty sing-along with an entire gospel choir acting as your back-up singers. Andaz London Liverpool Street has partnered with Psycle London to create My Body is a Temple: a wellness experience running throughout January. The experience, pairs a unique yoga session in the hotel's hidden Masonic Temple with a nutritious vegan brunch in the hotel's Eastway Brasserie, served with bottomless vegetable juice and smoothie options. Spaces are available on three Sundays in the month, the 14th, 21st and 28th January, at £45 per person.

Fast & Furious launches it's LIVE World Tour in London next weekend as the all-action automotive show screeches into the 02 for an all-star premier on Friday 19 January. Laughter Yoga

Not a fan of normal yoga? Try Laughter Yoga, a new 50-minute class designed for you to find your inner child and have a good old belly laugh. Yoga instructor and mindfulness teacher Federica Miserocchi will be taking the classes, and said: "During the playshop we will practice laughter exercises combined with deep breathing and play to release stress, detoxify and relax. No yoga poses, no yoga mats, just lots of laughter! You have never had a workout like this!" The sessions will launch on Blue Monday, 15 January, at Madison London.
