Already a long-time style icon at 27, Kate instinctively wears anything from vintage to designer pieces with the effortless grace that is her trademark

The model is back in the spotlight less than a year after she decided to take a break to relieve the pressures that modelling was having on her life

Recent photos taken by Mario Testino reveal a captivating confidence about the fragile beauty

Kate Moss has always been more of an icon than a model. From the moment she burst on to the scene in 1990 – a relatively short, skinny and flat-chested girl set among the more Amazonian Cindy Crawfords and Claudia Schiffers – she changed the look of her profession. From grungy waif to elegant sophisticate via the face of Cool Britannia, she has defined not just one but several pivotal fashion trends.

After a series of setbacks – splitting up from boyfriend Johnny Depp, followed by a spell in The Priory and a short break from modelling – she is now back on top in both her professional and personal life.

Kate has also found herself in what seems to be a steady, stable relationship. After liaisons with men including Lemonheads front man Evan Dando, millionaire Dan MacMillan and artist Jake Chapman, Kate is now said to be “madly in love” with journalist Jefferson Hack, 29, who she has been seeing for nearly six months. “Kate has met a new man and I think she realised that she has to look after herself,” said a friend recently.

She has certainly proved to be resilient. Where others might have fallen victim to their modelling merry-go-round lifestyle, Kate’s decision to take charge of her own life has had a really positive effect. In an industry that reveres youth, at 27 Kate is still at the top of her profession and looks set to remain there. And whatever she might choose to do next, one thing is certain – she’ll do it with her own unique sense of style.

For more information and pictures on the supermodel and her sensational new look, the new issue of HELLO! is on sale now.
