Afternoon tea in the Cellarium Café & Terrace at Westminster Abbey
As Christmas fast approaches, our thoughts turn to distinctive gifts and seasonal treats. It can be difficult to choose the perfect gift every year but for the foodie in the family, this year Westminster Abbey will be serving up something quite special.
From the 27th November, the Cellarium Café & Terrace at Westminster Abbey – one of London's most iconic landmarks – will be offering its Christmas afternoon tea. The specially curated festive themed menu, served in historic surroundings will see guests indulge in an assortment of classic afternoon tea items made with traditional Christmas ingredients.
From a Brussel sprout and Stilton tart, to a chocolate ganache topped gingerbread star, accompanied with Christmas spiced teas and/or a cranberry Bellini, the food and the venue combined will certainly serve for an afternoon of celebration.
The Christmas afternoon tea will be served daily between 12.00 – 4.00pm in the Westminster Abbey's Cellarium Café & Terrace. £21.50 per person, or £25 for those wishing to enjoy a cranberry Bellini.
Canary Wharf ice rink
Looking for a place to go ice skating in east London? Canary Wharf's ice rink has returned to Canada Square Park, offering London's only skate path and covered rink. At 80 metres, it's the capital's longest rink and will be open until 24 February next year. After a whirl around the rink, warm up in the winter-themed bar, The Grandstand Secret Garden, which will also have the best views for spectators.
The Christmas Fair at Ascot
This weekend, the Christmas Fair returns to Ascot, where over 150 stalls will be setting up shop - perfect for the festive shopping season! You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to browsing Christmas presents, from stocking fillers to bigger gifts. Make sure you stop by myLILhood for the perfect, cosy present - a handmade, gorgeous sheepskin-lined hood that can be attached to any coat. Versatility and style - we love it!

Feast your eyes on Ping Pong's new Christmas menu, which has everything from turkey and cider dumplings to beef Wellington puffs - both must-have dishes in our humble opinion! The hotel is offering a spa day combined with an afternoon tea - music to our ears! Guests can make use of the spa facilities for an hour before being treated to a 60-minute massage or facial, or both treatments split into half-hour sessions, followed by a traditional afternoon tea at the Galvin restaurant. This sounds like the perfect day out - Christmas gift sorted? We think so!
December's finally here, and if you're looking for a way to get well and truly into the festive mood, we'd recommend booking a spot for York and Albany's Awfully British Winter Cabin. They'll be serving a quintessentially British Elevenses or Afternoon Tea, where you can feast on roast turkey with cranberry sauce sandwiches alongside mince pie cheesecake, or pop by for a lunch or dinner sitting, where you'll be in charge of making your own Slim Santa cocktails, all while tucking into venison sausage rolls and lots of other mouth-watering canapés. There will, of course, be plenty of mulled wine (laced with Grey Goose La Poire) and luxurious blankets to keep you toasty as you dine. Feeling creative? You can decorate Christmas cookies to take home afterwards.
Scrap your Saturday night plans; one of the Shard's most stupendous restaurants, Oblix, has teamed up with Tanqueray No. 10 to bring you a gin-fuelled evening like no other. Transforming themselves into a Tanqueray treehouse for the night, you can expect lots of fairy-lit foliage alongside stunning views of London's skyline.
