21 FEBRUARY 2003
Kylie Minogue's Brit Awards duet with Justin Timberlake was marred by a rather less professional performance by her on-off boyfriend at the after-show party.

Former partner James Gooding confronted the singer at the star-studded bash, accusing her of flirting with Justin by letting him touch her bottom live on stage. The male model also demanded an explanation for the 34-year-old's reported dates with Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay.

Kylie and Justin had gone to dinner together after the awards, before moving on to the party at London's Sanderson hotel. Her management had instructions not to let Gooding into the VIP area, but he apparently managed to sneak in through a side entrance.

The Aussie star was sharing a table with sister Danii, Justin and Janet Jackson, when James approached and made the allegations. Kylie decided to leave the gathering, but Gooding blocked her path causing an embarrassing scene. A scuffle broke out as Kylie's security guards stepped in to restrain him, but thankfully no-one was hurt.

The petite beauty reportedly went on to an all-night party thrown by Jay Kay at his Home Counties mansion.
