Halle reveals scents-ual inspiration

Ms Berry looks to Africa for perfume launch

hellomagazine.com With the celebrity fragrance market worth $350m in the States alone, it's no wonder so many stars are launching their own perfumes.

With Avril Lavigne joining the likes of Britney Spears, J Lo and Sarah Jessica Parker with the UK arrival of her first perfume in the autumn, we've been thinking of the other stellar names who would surely make a success of scent.

Jennifer Aniston, Madonna and Katie Holmes are surely hugely untapped additions to the market. For now though Halle Berry is the latest to join the fragrant hall of fame, debuting her perfume in the States this month.

The X-Men star has apparently spent two years creating Halle, her 'outdoorsy' fragrance which is a woody oriental mix with fig, mimosa, Sicilian bergamot and pear blossom. The African root olibanum "brings spice to the fragrance" the actress explains, adding sandalwood "smooths everything out and makes it yummy".

The result is a sensual, natural evocation of the outdoors.
