Newly-engaged Crown Prince Felipe hosted Europe's most eligible future queen, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, during her visit to Madrid.
The young princess was in the Spanish capital at the weekend to present the first-ever Queen Kristina of Sweden business prize alongside Prince Felipe. The royal pair awarded two global clothing stalwarts – Inditex, parent company of seven chains from Massimo Dutti to Zara, and famed Swedish chain H&M.
But it wasn't just business that was the topic of the day: the Prince of Asturias received warm congratulations on his engagement to TV journalist Letizia Ortiz from both Crown Princess Victoria and hundreds of well-wishers who gathered outside.
And before the prize-giving, Swedish ambassador Lars Grundberg also took a moment to recognise the historic betrothal, asking for a round of applause for Prince Felipe, "who, at last, has found his Princess of Asturias".
