hellomagazine.com Is one of Britain's most eligible bachelors about to be taken off the market?

Music mogul Simon Cowell, who has repeatedly vowed he will never marry, has given the strongest hint to date that he is ready to settle down and have children.

In a television interview with Piers Morgan - to be screened in March - the 50-year-old opens up on his new romance with makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy, whom he first met on the set of American Idol in 2003.

"I'm smitten with Mezghan, I think she's the one," confesses the X Factor judge. "She's very special."

"You know when you've found somebody very special."

He even discussed the possibility of children in the future, saying: "I think I need to have little Simons around."

According to the Mirror, 36-year-old Mezghan sat at the back of the room during the interview wearing a Graff diamond ring on her engagement finger reportedly worth £250,000.

But when asked by Piers whether they were due to marry, Simon refused to confirm.

Reports of the couple's relationship first began when the Afghanistan-born brunette flew in to attend Simon's star-studded 50th birthday celebrations.

They where then spotted out on a date together at the start of the month, and again dining with friends on Valentine's Day.

In the past, the music exec has dated his close friend Terri Seymour - their relationship lasting from 2002 until 2008 - and American singer Sinitta.
