Sombre moment for Harry Potter's Daniel and Emma as they shoot final scenes It's not just the fans of Harry Potter who will be upset to see the series come to an end.

As filming for the seventh and final movie comes to a close, stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have expressed their sadness at saying goodbye to the franchise that launched their careers ten years ago.

"I'm going to be devastated," said lead actor Daniel, 20, while his co-star Emma likened the experience to a friend dying.

It came as little surprise then that the stars looked particularly solemn as they filmed their last scenes in the Hertfordshire countryside this week.

Emma, who plays Hermione Granger, was pictured at one point with her hand on co-star Daniel's shoulder while Rupert – Ron Weasley in the franchise – looked equally as emotional as the trio got to work.

The young actors are lensing their last moments for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which, it has been revealed, will be split into two parts. The first will be released in November while the final instalment hits screens in July 2011.

The franchise has made all three stars millionaires, and is the highest grossing film franchise of all time.

Daniel was just ten when he was cast as the boy wizard, as were Rupert and Emma.

Speaking about life after the series, Daniel recently said: "There will never be a scene in any of the Harry Potters that, when I watch it, won't trigger a series of memories about what that day was about and what I was doing. So everything is linked to my life and growing up.

"But at the same time, it will be exciting. It puts a pretty nice punctuation mark on my adolescence. I feel grown-up now," he said, before quipping: "I do hope I can continue to find some kind of employment after this – otherwise it's panto!"
