Liv Tyler could barely contain her excitement as she arrived at the world premiere of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first instalment of New Zealand director Peter Jackson’s epic £190 million film trilogy, The Lord Of The Rings. “I have never experienced anything like it. It’s amazing,” she declared.
Liv was joined by many of the film’s stars for a glittering screening at London’s Leicester Square, including Sean Bean, Christopher Lee, Sir Ian Holm and young American actor Elijah Wood, who plays Frodo the Hobbit.
In the absence of leading lady Cate Blanchett, who opted to stay at home with her new-born son Dashiell, it was left to 24-year-old Liv, who plays elf princess Arwen, to provide the glamour. She proved more than equal to the task, poised and elegant in a crimson Alexander McQueen trouser suit.
Despite her pivotal role in the film, Liv, daughter of Aerosmith front man Steve Tyler, still hadn’t seen it in its entirety – and she couldn’t wait: “We worked so hard on this. I’m in a state of complete excitement at the idea of finally seeing it,” she said.
