Sharnaz ShahidDeputy Online Editor

Based in the London office, Sharnaz Shahid has been a part of the HELLO! family since 2016, where she began her journey as a writer.

As HELLO!'s Deputy Online Editor, she is responsible for securing exclusive stories, approving article pitches and meticulously planning and delivering the brand's coverage of major events. A key part of her role involves nurturing long-standing relationships with industry PRs.

The past few years have marked some of her most significant professional achievements, including leading HELLO!'s digital coverage of Queen Elizabeth II's death, her State funeral and the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Securing high-profile interviews and mentoring junior members of the team with their writing and reporting is a particular highlight of her job. Among her biggest accomplishments to date is the exclusive access she secured for HELLO! at the 2022 Laver Cup gala. She was the only journalist to interview tennis greats Andy Murray, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic onboard the Thames Clipper heading to the event.

Her responsibilities also include leading a team of writers to pitch compelling stories to Apple News editors, with the goal of securing top positions ahead of competitors. She frequently liaises with PRs to gain exclusive access for HELLO! at red-carpet premieres, award shows and celebrity parties.

Sharnaz has been in the journalism industry for over a decade, beginning with a postgraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from the London College of Communication. Her career has seen her work in various newsrooms, including a secondment to the Sydney office to deputise the showbiz team at Daily Mail Australia. Her extensive experience also includes roles at the BBC, Best Magazine, The Guardian, Digital Spy and the Edinburgh Television Festival.

When not covering the latest news and features, she can often be found at the hottest new launches or celebrity parties. A self-proclaimed foodie, she loves experimenting with new recipes and trying the latest restaurants.
