Celebrities put their hands up to help stop child trafficking

With the revelation that 2,600 women have been trafficked into England and Wales and forced to work in the sex trade, it’s timely that celebrities are literally lending a hand to support a campaign calling on the Government to offer safety and wellbeing to young victims of trafficking.

With some surprisingly artistic results, Robert Pattinson, Matt LeBlanc, Sienna Miller, Naomi Campbell, Kim Cattrall, Joanna Lumley, Denise Van Outen and JLS are among the celebrities who’ve given handprints to The Body Shop to show their backing for the company’s petition, which is asking politicians to ensure every victim of child trafficking is given help through a system of guardianship.

There are an estimated 1.2m young people and children trafficked into cheap labour and sexual exploitation worldwide, with human trafficking the world’s third largest criminal industry.

You can sign the petition at www.thebodyshop.com/stop. You can also buy The Body Shop’s Soft Hands, Kind Hearts hand cream, £3.50, with all the proceeds going towards projects supporting victims of trafficking in the UK.
