MADONNA WARNS EMINEM SHE WANTS HIS HIP-HOP CROWN

24 APRIL 2003

Madonna has caused quite a stir with her most recent TV appearance, by warning bad-boy rapper Eminem to "watch out". Performing on MTV in the US, the singer demonstrated her own skills as a rapper and even suggested Eminem might be facing a challenge for his hip-hop throne.

So impressed was presenter Carson Daly that he said "Slim Shady" may have some serious competition on his hands. And Madonna, who is known to be a big Eminem fan, agreed with his assessment. "You know, I was born in Detroit first," she said in a reference to the controversial performer's hometown.

Healthy-eating fan Madge was also sporting a slightly enlarged tummy, prompting speculation that she's expecting a third child. The 44-year-old has been outspoken about her desire to have more children and recently told journalists that she and husband Guy Ritchie were actively considering a new addition to their family.

"Our whole life is based around the children," she said. "I get my daughter ready for school. I spend time with my son before he goes off to daycare."

The talented mother-of-two, who is currently promoting her new album American Life, has also written a children's book inspired by her interest in Kaballah, an esoteric form of Judaism.
