'If Kelly goes into labour I'll make 22-hour flight back': John's promise to pregnant wife

With his expectant wife's due date looming, keen pilot and Qantas ambassador John Travolta obviously had to get permission for an engagement on the other side of the world.

As he told the audience at the celebration of the airline's 90th birthday, Kelly Preston, 47, is now three weeks away from giving birth to the couple's third child.

"If [my wife] goes into labour, I'll have to take the plane straight back on a 22-hour flight," said the star. "If I get a call, I may have to say adios."

The Travoltas – who tragically lost their son Jett in January 2009 - have described the impending arrival as a 'miracle baby'.

During the trip to Oz the Grease star revealed that they have already picked the name Benjamin.

Fans in Queensland certainly showed their appreciation that John had made the long trip. As he stepped off his own Boeing 707 V-Jet, which is painted in the Qantas colours, women were heard screaming: "I love you".

Even the state's premier Anna Bligh seemed star-struck telling journalists: "John Travolta's still as hot as he's ever been".

And then the Hollywood star proved it by dispensing hugs and singing Summer Nights for the delighted crowd.
